Marriot International plans to open 30 hotels in 2019

According to data released earlier this year by the World Tourism Organization, the travel segment is expected to grow between 3% and 4% by 2019, maintaining the industry’s historical average rate. Taking into account the economic and social instabilities in some of the most important nations of the world, the sector development index proves that tourism is an increasingly valued activity in the international scenario.

To further enhance travelers’ desire to meet some of the world’s most spectacular and exotic destinations, Marriott’s luxury network plans to open 30 new high-end hotels this year. Marriott International already has brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, The Luxury Collection and JW Marriott and Bulgari and aims to enter new markets such as Morocco and Kenya.

According to a statement published in the press by Tina Edmundson, leader of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio, the Marriot network attracts “different types of travelers. From the world’s most sought-after destinations to the latest jewels to be discovered, we are focused on enabling our guests to enjoy their passions, wherever they are”.
