American Style Sententista Theme of the Pre-Fall 19 Calvin Klein Collection

For its new Pre-Fall 19 collection, Calvin Klein sought inspiration from the silhouettes of the 1970s, a time marked by positivity and optimism, and translated the codes for the present day. Clothing has simplicity and purism. Tights and flare, relaxed ruffle dresses, leather and shearling jackets, tailoring, fur coats, bouclé tweed clothes – building blocks for a wardrobe. Alone, each item is a distinct and unique character.

Simple geometric shapes become luxurious. Trenches and cashmere coats inspired by the CALVIN KLEIN files become new anchors for the simplified outer garment next to the body. Combined with large parkas and bomber jackets, a new set of classic pieces is created.

Evoking the American quilt that has become a modern emblem of the CALVIN KLEIN, the garments are made with different fabrics, juxtaposing textures and contrasting origins: tweed against denim and contrasting colors of corduroy. The palette of colors is populist: red lipstick, saturated oranges and roses, chambray and indigo blues, a spectrum of neutral. The collection delves deeper into the American perspective and proposes a true journey through the landscape of the past repositioned with the future. Check out some of the new collection’s models.
