2019 reasons to celebrate the luxury market next year

The year that is ending will be marked in history in many ways. The exciting rescue of the boys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand, the historic meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-um, the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union and, in Brazil, the election of Jair Bolsonaro for president, have marked the last 365 days and will certainly have direct consequences in the years to come.

For the luxury market, the year was also extremely interesting and positive. At the beginning of the year, surveys indicated that the period would be growth for the sector of high standards and, over the months, this trend was consolidating and strengthening.

Both in the Brazilian and in the international scenario, luxury brands and companies had very positive results, some even higher than imagined. Virtually all market sectors have evolved, with the main highlight being e-commerce.

This year millennial generation has definitely established itself as one of the largest consumers of luxury products and the Chinese market has become a sort of “source of desires” for the big brands, with exponential growth rates.

With such a positive result, the expectation is that next year the trend of growth will continue and the market may develop further.
